Memorabilia from 2Pac’s high school days is now up for auction through Wax Poetics.
Put together by DJ and music producer GE-OLOGY, the auction features five items connected to the late rapper, according to a press release. Among them is a birthday invitation from his high school friend, Jada Pinkett Smith. Both attended the Baltimore School for the Arts in the late 1980s. The framed invite is estimated to sell for between $3,000 and $5,000.
“This hand-drawn invitation to Jada Pinkett’s birthday party, dated September 13, 1986, captures a precise moment in Baltimore youth culture, before fame, when future cultural figures were part of the same friendship circles during a pivotal period of their adolescence,” the press release states.
The actress previously detailed her close bond with 2Pac in her 2023 memoir, Worthy, where she revealed they nearly got married while the rapper was incarcerated on sex abuse charges in 1995.
“The last thing I ever expected was a formal marriage proposal from Tupac. He asked me to answer as soon as possible because his entire existence depended on me saying yes,” Pinkett Smith wrote, later admitting that she ultimately “couldn’t do it.”
Also included in the auction is a 1988 seven-track cassette from the group Born Busy, which featured both 2Pac and Ge-ology as members. Regarded as the group’s earliest original recording, the rare tape is valued between $120,000 and $150,000. It was referenced in Jeff Pearlman’s 2025 biography Only God Can Judge Me, which chronicled the lives of the rapper and the actress. 2Pac died in September 1996 after being fatally shot in a Las Vegas drive-by.
Additional standout pieces from 2Pac’s high school era are also part of the auction, including a graduation banner signed by ’Pac and a collection of five photos taken at Ge-ology’s graduation party.
The auction is set to close on February 11 at 3 p.m. ET.
