A$AP Rocky has shared a few hints about the upcoming deluxe version of Don’t Be Dumb — and appeared to tease a possible Rihanna feature.
While speaking on the Joe Budden Podcast, the rapper talked about the album’s deluxe release, saying it will include “all the features.” When Queenzflip followed up by asking whether he planned to bring Rihanna “out of retirement,” Rocky chose not to respond.
Rocky laughed off the question before shifting the conversation to how Rihanna influences him creatively when he’s working on music. “She be encouraging me bro,” he said. “Her style is so crazy, because you wouldn’t expect her to fuck with the people she fucks with. She fucks with Alchemist and Knxwledge.”
Don’t Be Dumb is projected to sell around 200,000 units in its first week, including 100,000 from pure album sales. By comparison, Rocky’s 2018 album Testing opened with 75,000 units in its debut week.
Just a day after dropping the album on Jan. 16, Rocky hinted that a deluxe edition — dubbed “Disc 2” — was on the way. He fueled the speculation by liking a fan’s Instagram comment suggesting that songs he’d previously performed but left off the album could appear on another version.
Adding to the Don’t Be Dumb rollout, Rocky also announced a 42-date global tour in support of the project. The Don’t Be Dumb World Tour kicks off in the U.S. on May 27 at the United Center in Chicago and wraps up on July 11 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
