A father is speaking up after his 4-year-old daughter was hit with profanity following one of her viral NFL prediction videos — this time from Cardi B.
Reese Donatelli, who has gained a sizable social media following for her cute football predictions, recently shared another clip where she randomly picked team helmets to forecast winners in the NFL playoffs. The videos have been circulating for years and are meant to be playful, often drawing laughs because her picks usually turn out wrong — a running joke fans call a “reverse curse.”
However, one of Reese’s recent predictions appeared to strike a nerve with Cardi B ahead of the AFC Championship game between the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos. In an Instagram Live video that quickly spread online, the rapper reacted after seeing Reese choose against New England.
“That little white girl said we weren’t going to win. Fuck that bitch! I told y’all,” Cardi said. She quickly caught herself and walked the comment back moments later.
“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to say that,” she added.
Even so, the initial remark sparked backlash across social media, with many pointing out that Reese is a child taking part in a harmless, family-friendly trend.
Reese’s father, Anthony Donatelli — a longtime Pittsburgh Steelers fan — soon addressed the situation publicly, reminding both Cardi and viewers of the innocent nature of the videos.
“That’s my daughter… She’s 4 years old. This is a lighthearted, family-friendly video where she randomly picks football helmets. Please don’t direct profanity toward a child,” he said.
In a separate conversation with the Los Angeles Times, Anthony went on to clarify that Reese’s predictions have nothing to do with actual football analysis.
“It’s crazy,” he said. “She’s obviously not an NFL analyst. She’s picking teams based on the color of her dress, or she’ll choose the Packers because she likes cheese. She just connects these goofy little things to why she picks certain teams.”
In the end, Reese’s prediction didn’t pan out — the Patriots defeated the Broncos 10-7.
