Just like that, IShowSpeed’s Africa tour has come to an end.
The 21-year-old streamer hopped on his stream to express his appreciation.
“I’m glad that I decided to come here and experience it for myself. To be honest, chat, this tour changed my life, bro. This tour changed my life for the better, seriously,” Speed said.
“This tour really opened my eyes…it lit something deep inside me, like straight from my roots. It kind of spoke to me, like, I can really do this. I mean, I’ve already been doing it, but this felt different. It was personal, you know? Coming back to the motherland and streaming the whole thing—20 countries in 28 days,” he added before trailing off.
Tuesday marked the end of the streamer’s 28-day journey across Africa, during which he visited 20 countries, including Angola, Kenya, Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.
The tour produced several viral moments, from losing a pull-up challenge in Angola to drinking cow’s blood in Kenya, and even trying to buy sandals in Algeria—only to misunderstand how much they actually cost.
The trip also came with a few chaotic moments. In the Ivory Coast, Speed was suddenly attacked by a man while learning a local dance. Later on in Nigeria, he attempted to lift the spirits of the internet’s so-called “angriest man in Nigeria” by offering him money—but it didn’t work. At another stop in Nigeria, Speed boldly declared that Nigeria’s jollof rice beats Senegal’s.
