Billie Eilish Declares “No One Is Illegal on Stolen Land” During Grammy Acceptance Speech

Billie Eilish used her Grammy moment to speak out in support of immigrants while accepting the Song of the Year award on Sunday (Feb. 1).

“No one is illegal on stolen land,” Eilish said onstage alongside her brother, Finneas.

“It’s just really hard to know what to say and what to do right now,” the 24-year-old added. “I feel really hopeful in this room, and I feel like we need to keep fighting and speaking up and protesting. Our voices really do matter, and the people matter.”

The Hit Me Hard and Soft singer also took aim at Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Trump administration weeks earlier while accepting the 2026 MLK Jr. Beloved Community Environmental Justice Award in Atlanta on Jan. 17.

“We’re seeing our neighbors being kidnapped, peaceful protesters being assaulted and murdered, our civil rights being stripped, resources to fight the climate crisis being cut for fossil fuels and animal agriculture destroying our planet, and people’s access to food and healthcare becoming a privilege for the wealthy instead of a new basic human right for all Americans,” she said.

“It is very clear that protecting our planet and our communities is not a priority for this administration,” Eilish continued. “And it’s really hard to celebrate that when we no longer feel safe in our own homes or in our streets.”

Eilish, whose track “Wildflower” also picked up a nomination for Record of the Year, made a statement on the Grammys red carpet by wearing an “ICE out” pin, joining other artists who used the night to speak out.

Bad Bunny echoed the message while accepting the award for Best Música Urbana Album for 2025’s DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.

“Before I say thanks to God, I’m gonna say, ICE out,” Bad Bunny told the audience. “We’re not savages, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens. We are humans, and we are Americans.”
