Tameka Foster, the former wife of R&B singer Usher, was captured being taken into custody for failing to appear in court in newly released body cam footage.
According to TMZ, Foster—who shares two teenage sons with Usher—was arrested a year after receiving a ticket for driving without insurance. Although she later obtained coverage for the vehicle, she never appeared in court to provide proof to a judge.
As a result, a warrant was issued for the former Bold & Bougie star, and she was arrested by Brookhaven Police on January 5 after returning to Georgia from a trip to St. Barths.
In the body cam footage, an officer is seen allowing the designer and celebrity stylist to place a phone call and apologizing if she felt she was treated “unfair.”
“I mean, if I were acting belligerent or something, I’d understand,” Foster said while commenting on the officer having handcuffs ready.
Foster also shared light moments with the officer, who offered to help unlock her phone with a passcode and assured her he wasn’t trying to snoop. She later called her mother before attempting to sort out the payment with the officer.
“This is the craziest out-of-body shit I’ve ever experienced,” Foster said. “The sad part is, I got pulled over for nothing. I don’t even have a speeding ticket.”
She also mentioned that her 55th birthday had been just four days earlier and asked the officer not to tell anyone about the arrest.
Foster and Usher were married from 2007 to 2009 and are parents to sons Usher “Cinco” Raymond V, 18, and Naviyd Ely, 17.
