Mase Says Stefon Diggs Doesn’t Owe Cardi B Anything Amid Super Bowl Split Speculation

Mase is stepping into the conversation surrounding Stefon Diggs and Cardi B, making it clear he believes Diggs had every right to move how he wanted during football’s biggest night.

On a recent episode of It Is What It Is, Mase spoke candidly about the rumored split between Cardi and Diggs. With speculation swirling that Diggs showed up to the game with another woman — and that the two unfollowed each other on Instagram shortly after the Super Bowl — Mase suggested that fans, and possibly Cardi herself, may have placed too much weight on a relationship that wasn’t exactly simple from the jump.

“I think when it comes to this situation, we might have put too much stock into Stefon Diggs when it comes to the relationship, you know?” Mase said. “He could bring whoever he wants to the game. He doesn’t owe Cardi B anything like that. I mean, when you think about it, she was still technically probably married when he got her pregnant. So his idea is, how much stock can you put in another married person?”

Breaking down his perspective, Mase described the situation as one rooted in emotional investment. He implied that the “WAP” hitmaker may have gone all in too quickly. There were also reports claiming Cardi poured more than $1 million into a Super Bowl party that ultimately didn’t fully come together.

“I think I said it a little bit wrong because I’m kind of tired this morning, but just think about that. Any person to have somebody that they’re married to. If it was a young lady and this guy was married to somebody else, she can’t put all of her eggs in his basket because she already know he’s taken. So I think she kind of overplayed it,” Mase added. “There was rumors that it was a $1,000,000 party, and she invested too much, I think. Sometimes you can’t invest too much in people, not in the beginning. You gotta let people show you that they’re worth their investment.”

The breakup buzz caught fans off guard, especially those who had been keeping up with the couple’s whirlwind romance. Their relationship kicked off in late 2024 and became Instagram official in June 2025. Right before dropping Am I the Drama?, Cardi announced she was expecting Diggs’ child, and the two welcomed a baby boy — affectionately called Baby Touchdown — in November 2025.

Rumors of an engagement started circulating after Cardi posted photos of their son, and Diggs stirred things up even more last week when he joked that a ring was “on the agenda” — after he secures a championship one first.

Although an unnamed source told Entertainment Tonight on Monday that the breakup is currently official, they added that “not all hope for a reconciliation is lost.”
