Nick Cannon’s former partner Abby De La Rosa is getting candid about the challenges of co-parenting with the father of 12.
The radio host and influencer, who shares three kids with Cannon, discussed their dynamic on the Wednesday (Feb. 11) episode of the podcast Lovers by Shan.
With the Wild ’n Out creator, De La Rosa shares 4-year-old twin sons Zillion and Zion, as well as 3-year-old daughter Beautiful.
Early in the conversation, she revealed that in 2022, she was pregnant at the same time as four other women Cannon was involved with.
Around the 24-minute mark of the episode, De La Rosa opened up about what affects her most when it comes to Cannon’s close co-parenting relationships with the mothers of his nine other children.
Cannon is frequently seen alongside Bre Tiesi, who shares a 3-year-old son with him named Legendary Love.
“I think in hindsight it sounds cool, but then when you actually get in the grid of it, and you see what you see or you’ll see him on trips or you’ll see real family dynamics happening, it really triggers you and it really can get under your skin,” De La Rosa said, speaking about Cannon’s multiple households.
De La Rosa shared that she and Cannon have “grown into love” over time by understanding each other’s “communication style, friendship style, parenting style.”
“And when you have kids, it just amplifies everything,” she said. “And not only do we share kids, but we have a child with special needs. So that takes everything up a whole other notch. And it’s been a journey.”
The mom of three also spoke about the “respect” she has for Cannon’s ex-wife, music legend Mariah Carey, who shares his oldest children, 14-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe.
“But there’s never been one person in this. And I just want to reiterate that nobody’s been blindsided,” De La Rosa added, noting that the women involved were aware of Cannon’s desire for a polyamorous lifestyle.
She also admitted that while Cannon has never expressed a desire to fully commit to her, it can still be difficult seeing him in Instagram posts with the other mothers of his children.
“But he’s created such beautiful family dynamics,” she said. “I just think for women, it’s really hard when you see that the person you were just hugged up on one day is a whole is hugged up in the same way with a whole other person… It’s not easy.”
Back in September, De La Rosa appeared on the Nick Cannon at Night podcast, where she hinted that their relationship remained intimate.
“Nick doesn’t just talk. We don’t talk about fantasies,” she said. “Nick is like, ‘Oh, that’s what you want to do. You want to have sex on the balcony on a hotel…'”
“Hey, you’re giving them too much information,” Cannon joked.
