DDG says he won’t spoil a woman he’s dating unless his mom gets the same treatment first.
During a recent livestream with Deshae Frost, the rapper and popular streamer made it clear he’s not a “trick.” According to DDG, if he’s buying a gift for a girlfriend, he makes sure to get his mother, Tonya-Yvette Granberry, something first — or at least the same thing.
DDG was most recently linked to actress and singer Halle Bailey, with whom he shares a 2-year-old son.
At around the one-hour, seven-minute mark of the stream, DDG described himself as a “heavy spender” when it comes to dating.
“I’m not a real trick, y’all. Y’all be thinking I’m a trick. I’m not an actual trick,” he said, before revealing that he once bought a woman a $45,000 watch.
“You know what I tell myself? I said it in a song, too. I can’t give a girl nothing I ain’t give my mama,” DDG told Frost. “I can’t, bro. I felt wrong. Before I ever bought a girl watch, I got one for my mama. Before I ever buy a girl a car, I already got my mama multiple cars. Now, next girl I get probably going to get a car.”
When Frost asked whether he’d ever buy a woman a house, DDG made it clear it would only happen if they were living in it together.
“It could be our crib, but I’m not just going to buy a girl crib. I never paid a girl’s rent before,” he said. “I don’t believe in that shit, bro.”
DDG — whose net worth is estimated at $8 million — is no stranger to showing off his success. He recently clapped back at a man who questioned how much the Blame the Chat rapper actually earns from streaming.
Back in November, DDG made headlines when he gifted his mom her dream ride — a brand-new G-Wagon — for her birthday.
