Alabama Toddler Reported Missing as Police Point to ‘Inconsistencies’ in Mother’s Account

Authorities in Alabama are pressing on with an urgent search for 2-year-old Genesis Nova Reid, as her disappearance sparks growing concern and scrutiny. Investigators are now trying to reconstruct a timeline that reportedly doesn’t match the original account.

According to People, Genesis Nova Reid was reported missing from her residence on Apache Drive in Enterprise during the early morning hours of February 16.

Police say Genesis Nova Reid’s mother, 33-year-old Adrienne Reid, called authorities around 3 a.m., claiming her 2-year-old daughter was missing and that the front door had been left open.

At the time, it was believed Genesis disappeared overnight. She was last reportedly seen wearing pink Minnie Mouse pajamas. Officers immediately began searching the area, but no immediate trace of the toddler was found.

As detectives dug deeper, they began spotting holes in the initial story. In a statement, police revealed investigators “identified inconsistencies in the information provided,” leading them to take a closer look at the details surrounding the report.

That development brought a significant shift in the case. Authorities now believe Genesis Nova Reid may not have been seen for weeks before she was officially reported missing. Several neighbors in Enterprise told local outlets they hadn’t seen the child since late December.

One neighbor said the toddler and her mother had stopped their usual walks weeks earlier. Another claimed Genesis, who often played outside with other children, hadn’t been seen since Christmas. A third neighbor alleged that he saw Adrienne Reid alone at a store on Valentine’s Day and asked about Genesis, but said she replied, “I don’t know,” before walking away.

Following those revelations, a separate report from People confirmed that Adrienne Reid has been charged with false reporting to law enforcement. Police clarified that the charge is tied to discrepancies in her statements and does not represent a conclusion about Genesis Nova Reid’s disappearance. The child’s whereabouts remain unknown.

Investigators are also trying to identify and locate a woman known as “Moriah,” described as a Black female who frequents Levels Bar and Grille on Daleville Avenue in Enterprise and nearby Ozark. Authorities have named her a person of interest and are asking the public for assistance in finding her.

Several agencies have joined the investigation, including the FBI, U.S. Marshals Service, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, and the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office. Enterprise Police Chief Michael Moore stressed the seriousness of the case, stating, “This is the beginning of a long investigation,” while emphasizing that the top priority is safely locating the child.

Genesis Nova Reid is described as a Black toddler with brown eyes and black hair, approximately 2 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 30 pounds. She is set to turn 3 years old in March.

Her family is also urging the public to come forward with any information. Her grandmother said, “She was not given willingly. Please contact us… whatever it takes.”

Anyone with information about Genesis Nova Reid or her possible whereabouts is asked to contact the Enterprise Police Department at 334-347-2222.
