J. Cole was hit with a lawsuit by Cam’ron in October 2025, who claimed the rapper failed to follow through on promises tied to a feature.
A new teaser from Talk With Flee! shows the two hip-hop veterans finally sitting down and putting their legal issues behind them. As previously reported, the Dipset legend took legal action against the Dreamville boss over what he said was a broken agreement following the release of “Ready ’24.”
Cam’ron alleged that J. Cole promised to return the favor with a feature of his own after appearing on Might Delete Later. Alternatively, if that didn’t happen, Cole was said to have agreed to appear on It Is What It Is, Cam’s show with Ma$e.
He also claimed he was owed around $500,000 in royalties from the collaboration. When none of those commitments materialized, Cam’ron decided to take the issue to court.

J. Cole’s legal team didn’t respond to the lawsuit until last month, just days after the release of The Fall-Off. In their reply, they pushed back on Cam’ron’s claims, stating: “It was only after the release of ‘Ready ‘24’ that he began to demand unreasonable conditions never agreed to by Cole, or an excessive fee inconsistent with industry standards for a featured performance, followed by the filing of this lawsuit without notice to publicly disparage Cole as leverage.”
Cole also shared that he was “disappointed” by the situation, noting in a clip captured by Kurrco that he would’ve preferred to handle things through a conversation rather than letting it escalate.

Cole also admitted the situation bruised his ego at first. “When the lawsuit came out, I was like, ‘Come on Cam’ … My ego reaction is like, quietly, I’m like, ‘fck this n***.'” But he said that feeling didn’t last long.
“But quickly I’m like, ‘Nah I get it though,'” he added, explaining he could understand why Cam might’ve felt like he was being given the runaround.
Cam’ron responded on a more appreciative note, while also revealing he never truly intended to take things all the way.
“Of course it was never gonna go anywhere, but for me it was like, ‘I need to get this n**** attention,'” he said — a surprising take considering how frustrated he previously seemed.
Now, it looks like things between the two are moving in a better direction.
Elsewhere, fans can expect more of J. Cole’s perspective on the Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud. He admitted the whole situation left him feeling both frustrated and disappointed, saying, “The world became like politics, you either Democrat or Republican. You either Kendrick, or you Drake… I was disgusted both ways, damn near.”
