Khloé Kardashian is opening up about her marriage to Lamar Odom in Netflix’s upcoming Untold documentary series, The Death & Life of Lamar Odom. She revealed that during their marriage, she once caught the former Lakers star “smoking crack” in a home she had rented for him. The incident reportedly took place in 2016, following his near-fatal overdose in 2015.
According to People, Kardashian had been covering the cost of a caretaker and a chef for Odom at the time. But she said she reached her breaking point after discovering he had returned to drug use, deciding she could no longer “put her life on hold to take care of him.”
“Once you know the smell of crack, it’s the most identifiable, disgusting smell, and there’s nothing that you can confuse it with,” she said. “And I remember stopping by the house and I smelled crack.”
She continued, “I remember slowly tiptoeing up the stairs, he was in his bedroom, sitting on the edge of the bed, smoking crack, and I just punched him in his face.”
Kardashian also shared that she initially believed Odom didn’t have access to a phone during that time, only to later realize that wasn’t the case. “He was playing me so I could continue this lifestyle for him,” she said. “I said, ‘By Monday you need to be out of this house, I’m done, I’m not paying for a thing and I never want to speak to you again.'”
The pair were married for seven years after tying the knot in 2009, just 30 days after meeting. In 2011, they launched their reality show Khloé & Lamar, which ran for two seasons. Kardashian filed for divorce in December 2013, though it wasn’t finalized until December 2016 as they briefly attempted to reconcile.
