Candiace Dillard Bassett is stepping into a fresh era musically, teaming up on new R&B remixes of her heartfelt track “If Only…” alongside Tamar Braxton and Darrel Walls.
According to People, the original record serves as a raw reflection on past relationships and anchors a remix series titled The Conversation. The Tamar Braxton-assisted version, “If Only…SHEmix,” is already out, while the Darrel Walls collaboration, “If Only…HEmix,” is set to drop on April 24. A solo remix from Dillard Bassett herself is also expected in April, ahead of the full project’s planned release in May.
Best known for her role on The Real Housewives of Potomac, Dillard Bassett shared with People that the song—and its remixes—pull directly from her personal dating experiences, as well as stories from those around her. She describes The Conversation as a platform to explore love, vulnerability, and emotional depth in a way listeners can truly connect with.
Having Tamar Braxton on the project carries special meaning for Dillard Bassett, who views her as both a mentor and a “big sister.” Braxton’s presence is said to bring an added layer of empowerment and emotional honesty, backed by her signature powerhouse vocals.
