Michael Jackson’s Family Reacts Positively to Drake’s “ICEMAN” Instagram Post

Drake has been generating major buzz with his new album, ICEMAN, drawing attention from both everyday fans and high-profile figures. Recently, Kurrco highlighted on Twitter that several members of Michael Jackson’s family showed support for the project by liking Drake’s Instagram post featuring the album cover. The artwork shows the Toronto star wearing the King of Pop’s iconic diamond-studded glove while flashing a hand sign representing the 6ix.

Among those who interacted with the post were Jackie Jackson, the longest-serving member of the Jackson 5, as well as the official Jackson family Instagram account. While the likes may seem like a small gesture, they suggest a level of mutual respect between the two camps.

The interaction comes shortly after Drake surpassed one of Michael Jackson’s most notable chart achievements in the United States. Thanks to the ICEMAN standout track Janice STFU, Drake became the male solo artist with the most No. 1 songs in U.S. chart history, breaking his previous tie with Jackson. The achievement gave him 14 officially recognized chart-topping hits.

Technically, Drake has been part of 15 No. 1 records, but because he was not officially credited on SICKO MODE by Travis Scott, that song is not counted toward his official total.

Elsewhere, Drake’s record-breaking achievement has sparked plenty of debate online. Even some of his biggest supporters, including DJ Akademiks, are hesitant to place him above Michael Jackson.

“I think he’s achieved a lot musically and may have surpassed Michael in certain areas,” Akademiks said. “But when it comes to the ultimate standard of popularity, it’s still Michael Jackson. That’s not a knock on Drake. Back then, there weren’t countless subgenres dividing audiences. If you think about it, Michael was like Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, and Drake all rolled into one.”

Meanwhile, Charlamagne Tha God also questioned the significance of the milestone despite acknowledging Drake’s success.

“This is why I say numbers can be misleading,” he said. “Does Drake have the numbers? Absolutely. Does he have songs that will last? Of course. But a lot of Drake’s music doesn’t carry the same cultural impact as albums like Off the Wall or Thriller.”

The debate has split fans, with some agreeing that Jackson’s influence remains unmatched, while others feel the criticism toward Drake is unfair. Regardless of where people stand, the support shown by the Jackson family suggests they’re more than happy to celebrate the accomplishments of one of Michael Jackson’s most outspoken admirers.
