Fat Joe Says He Couldn’t Find a Hot Dog in San Antonio: “They Forced Me to Eat Tacos, Man”

Fat Joe’s search for a glizzy came up empty in San Antonio over the weekend.

While chatting with Chris Haynes and John Wall after the Knicks painted the city blue and orange with their championship-clinching victory over the Spurs—powered in large part by another standout performance from Jalen Brunson—the Bronx rapper showed love to the people of San Antonio while jokingly expressing his disappointment over the city’s apparent lack of quality hot dog spots.

“Let me tell you something about San Antonio,” he said. “What they don’t have is glizzies. They’ve got tacos, but no hot dogs, man. I’ve been all over the city trying to find a glizzy, and there’s just none. … They had me eating tacos instead. I’m serious. Extra hot sauce and everything. It’s wild out here. Much love to the Latino community in San Antonio. Thanks for showing us so much love, but we’re taking this thing home.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Fat Joe, who became a familiar face throughout the Knicks’ historic championship run, gave much of the credit to Jalen Brunson, praising the star guard’s relentless drive and leadership in helping guide Mike Brown’s squad to its first NBA title in more than 50 years.

“You can say OG [Anunoby] was phenomenal, and he absolutely was, but Brunson is the reason we got here,” Joe said. “There’s just something about him—he refuses to lose. When the moment gets big, he steps up. There’s nothing you can do to stop it. Give him four minutes, and he’s taking over.”

As of publication, it remained unclear whether Fat Joe had finally celebrated the Knicks’ championship victory with a long-awaited ceremonial glizzy. The author of this piece, however, can confirm that plans are already in motion to do exactly that—and as soon as possible.
