Corey Feldman Reportedly Rushed to the Hospital Following a Medical Emergency During a Flight

Corey Feldman was reportedly taken to the hospital after experiencing a medical emergency while on a flight from Chicago to Los Angeles this week.

According to TMZ, the 54-year-old actor became seriously ill on Monday afternoon (June 15) while returning from a weekend tour. A doctor who was also onboard examined him and suggested the issue could be related to pancreatitis or gallstones, although no official diagnosis had been made at the time.

Sources told the outlet that paramedics were waiting at the gate when the plane landed, and Feldman was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

As of press time, the actor — widely known for his roles in The Goonies, Stand By Me, and Gremlins — remained in the hospital undergoing additional tests.

Feldman had recently completed the Midwest portion of Stand By Me Live, a touring event where he joins Jerry O’Connell and Wil Wheaton to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 1986 classic by sharing behind-the-scenes stories and watching the film alongside fans.

The group appeared in Indianapolis on Saturday (June 13) before heading to Chicago on Sunday (June 14). Between tour stops, Feldman also visited Gary, Indiana, the hometown of his late friend Michael Jackson, and documented parts of the trip on social media.

Back in March, Corey Feldman claimed he may have lost out on a major career opportunity, and he believes Johnny Depp played a role in it.

Speaking on an episode of The Magnificent Others With Billy Corgan podcast, Feldman revealed that he had originally been cast in the 1993 drama What’s Eating Gilbert Grape.

According to Feldman, he was set to play Arnold “Arnie” Grape, the younger brother of the movie’s title character, who was portrayed by Depp. “I never saw the film because I’m still bitter,” Feldman said. “Bitter leaf in that one. But yes, I was originally cast for that role.”

The Goonies star claimed he was among the first actors brought onto the project but was later removed after Depp joined the cast.

“Johnny Depp … was cast after I was and apparently whispered into the producers’ ear that he wasn’t fond of me,” Feldman alleged. “He said I was a junkie and that he didn’t work with junkies. This is the first time I’m ever telling this story, so I’m sure I’m gonna get hung by this one.”
