Gal Gadot is sharing the harrowing story of a health crisis she experienced while pregnant with her fourth child. In a heartfelt Instagram post, the actress revealed she suffered a blood clot in her brain during the eighth month of her pregnancy, leading to emergency surgery.
Gadot shared the emotional post alongside a photo of herself holding her newborn daughter, Ori, in a hospital bed. “In one moment, my family and I were faced with how fragile life can be,” she wrote. “It was a stark reminder of how quickly everything can change, and in the midst of a difficult year, all I wanted was to hold on and live.”
The “Wonder Woman” star explained that she began experiencing debilitating headaches, which left her bedridden for days. An MRI eventually revealed the life-threatening blood clot.
“My daughter, Ori, was born during that moment of uncertainty and fear,” Gadot shared. “Her name, meaning ‘my light,’ wasn’t chosen by chance. Before the surgery, I told Jaron [Gadot’s husband] that when our daughter arrived, she would be the light waiting for me at the end of this tunnel.”
Ori’s arrival marked a bittersweet moment of relief and joy amidst the turmoil. Gadot underwent emergency surgery and has since made a full recovery. Reflecting on the ordeal, she said she chose to share her story to raise awareness about health complications during pregnancy and support others facing similar challenges.
“In sharing this, I hope to remind people to listen to their bodies and trust their instincts,” she wrote. “Life is so fragile, and every moment with our loved ones is a gift.”
Gadot and her husband, Jaron Varsano, now share four daughters: Alma (born in 2011), Maya (2017), Daniella (2021), and Ori (2024). Ori’s name, a beacon of light for the family, holds deep significance as a symbol of hope and resilience in the face of uncertainty.
