Nearly two years after the release of SOS Deluxe: Lana, SZA has given fans a glimpse of an unreleased visual inspired by one of the project’s standout tracks.
On Friday (July 10), the seven-time Grammy Award winner shared an Instagram Reel featuring an unfinished video for “Scorsese Baby Daddy,” a song playfully titled after legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese.
“Drafts we never finished part 20585969437,” SZA wrote in the caption, while also tagging director Bradley J. Calder.
In the unfinished clip, SZA is seen wearing alien-inspired prosthetics as she dances inside a gym alongside a group of extraterrestrial performers dressed in colorful 1980s-style workout leotards.
The concept closely mirrors the artwork for Lana, which features the singer-songwriter portrayed as an alien standing in a grassy field. Released in December 2024, SOS Deluxe: Lana serves as the expanded edition of SZA’s RIAA-certified eight-times platinum album, SOS.
SZA later explained in the comments why the visual was never fully completed or officially released.
“When ur own concept scares u too much n shit start warping in the edit room,” she wrote. “Yall don’t understand.”

SZA, who has often explored otherworldly themes in songs like the Grammy-winning “Saturn,” famously appeared wearing alien-inspired facial prosthetics during a September 2024 episode of Hot Ones as she built anticipation for the release of LANA.
SZA’s most recent solo music video was 2024’s “Drive.” A few months later, she appeared alongside Kendrick Lamar in the video for “Luther,” a collaboration that went on to earn the pair two Grammy Awards in February.
