He praised Stapleton’s approach, highlighting her ability to uncover “the right story” through the available footage and interviews. The rapper and businessman also addressed the years of silence surrounding Diddy, referencing his long-running criticism of Combs and his comments about his alleged “touchiness.”
“He wasn’t in the closet,” 50 Cent said. “He was in the hallway. You can see that there’s something going on, but you just don’t know what exactly to say.”
He continued by explaining how hip-hop culture often follows success and ambition, suggesting that people may overlook certain controversies when someone is financially successful or admired. 50 also pointed to the documentary’s reception, noting that when the docuseries became number one in 31 countries, it showed that the attention and conversation he created were enough to make people take notice.
Sean Combs: The Reckoning earned nominations at this year’s Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series, Outstanding Directing for a Documentary/Nonfiction Program, and Outstanding Picture Editing for a Nonfiction Program. The winners will be announced on September 14, 2026, and 50 Cent himself could take home an award if the series wins in the Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series category.

While his ongoing shots at Combs are not exactly surprising, they remain notable.
