50 Cent is once again sharing his thoughts on the long-running 2Pac murder case, this time joking that he wants to put money on his prediction for the outcome.
On Thursday, the rapper posted a screenshot on Instagram from a CBS 8 interview with Duane “Keffe D” Davis, who is scheduled to face trial next week in Las Vegas. The image focused on Davis’ recent statement that Diddy was not involved in Tupac “2Pac” Shakur’s killing, despite his past claims involving an alleged $1 million payment.
Alongside the post, 50 Cent joked about using the prediction market platform Polymarket to place a bet on Davis’ potential sentence.
“Yo you think Poly market a let me bet this fool gonna get 20 years?” he wrote.
The post marks the latest in a string of social media shots 50 Cent has taken at Davis ahead of the upcoming trial. Earlier this month, he poked fun at the 63-year-old for entering one of hip-hop’s most high-profile criminal cases while being represented by a public defender.
Davis remains the only person ever charged in connection with Tupac Shakur’s 1996 fatal shooting in Las Vegas. He has pleaded not guilty to one count of murder with a deadly weapon with the intent to promote, further, or assist a criminal gang.
Prosecutors claim Davis played a role in organizing the drive-by shooting after Tupac and members of his entourage allegedly attacked Davis’ nephew, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, at the MGM Grand earlier that night. While they do not accuse Davis of pulling the trigger, they argue he helped coordinate the attack and provided the weapon used in the killing.
In a recent jailhouse interview with CBS 8 investigative reporter Vanessa Murphy, Davis denied any involvement in Tupac’s death.
“No ma’am, no ma’am, I wasn’t even in the matter, I wasn’t in the matter period,” he said.
Davis also claimed that comments he made over the years, including statements featured in his 2019 memoir Compton Street Legend and interviews with VladTV, were driven by financial motives rather than being truthful accounts.
“I was just after the money,” Davis said, explaining that he made those statements because he was being paid.
However, those remarks are expected to be a key part of the prosecution’s case after a judge ruled that both Davis’ memoir and a 2008 police interview can be used as evidence. His defense team has argued that the stories were exaggerated or created for entertainment purposes.
During the CBS 8 interview, Davis also pushed back against long-running speculation that Diddy was connected to Tupac’s murder, saying he does not believe the Bad Boy founder had any involvement. His comments differ from previous claims he made that have appeared in several documentaries, including 50 Cent’s own Sean Combs: The Reckoning.
Jury selection is scheduled to begin Monday, August 10, in Las Vegas. If convicted, Davis could face life in prison without the possibility of parole. Prosecutors are not pursuing the death penalty.
