Ash Trevino is facing additional allegations, with prosecutors claiming she has been romantically connected to more than 50 inmates.
The content creator first gained attention on TikTok for sharing stories about “inmate hopping,” a term used to describe dating men who are currently or have previously been incarcerated. Last December, Trevino was arrested on felony financial crime charges. The 37-year-old, who has more than 500,000 TikTok followers, posted a $15,000 bond at the time but was arrested again in March for allegedly violating her bond conditions.
According to TMZ, prosecutors are now alleging that Trevino, whose real name is Ashley Lopez-Trevino, had romantic relationships with between 50 and 75 inmates within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Some of the inmates were reportedly serving time for serious offenses, including aggravated robbery and murder.
Prosecutors also raised concerns about what they described as alleged “panhandling” activity on TikTok, claiming Trevino sought “monetary donations” while offering to “disclose health information regarding a dependent.”
This week, Trevino pleaded guilty to welfare fraud and fraudulent securing of document execution. While she will avoid prison time, she has been ordered to repay $16,799 in restitution to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. She must also complete two years of community supervision, 120 hours of community service, an anti-theft program, and financial counseling.
