Hip-Hop Artist Ja Rule Offers Reply Following Vegas Writer’s Criticism of 50 Cent’s Strip Show Series

Ja Rule is sharing his thoughts regarding 50 Cent’s performance series in Las Vegas.

Shortly after announcing that his New Year’s goal is “to be petty,” the 48-year-old musical artist is already fulfilling his promise by criticizing his longtime nemesis Fifty following an online personality’s negative review of his Vegas show.

Jennifer Gay, who has long admired 50 Cent and provides Las Vegas travel advice to her million-strong Instagram audience under the handle @Vegasstarfish, found herself unimpressed with Fifty’s latest Sin City performance.

“50 Cent’s Las Vegas residency could possibly be the most disappointing production ever to arrive in Vegas,” she expressed in a voiceover commentary on her Instagram video critique. “Despite the venue being nearly packed and attendees appearing enthusiastic, I invite you to hear me out before I explain why I found it so unsatisfactory.”

She added, “The audio quality in the venue was poor and his backup performers overshadowed his voice throughout the entire performance. His only interaction was a brief announcement about performing six shows before concluding. His performance lasted 84 minutes before he exited the stage. The impression was that he had no interest in being there. The tickets were quite expensive.”

In the comments below, she elaborated that she had witnessed Fifty’s performance “many years ago and it was absolutely incredible” but felt his Vegas appearance “was completely different from that experience.” She also pointed out the G-Unit artist’s “apparent lack of enthusiasm” and criticized him for departing the stage without expressing gratitude to his fans.

Gay’s review found its way to X where it drew Ja Rule’s attention on Wednesday.

“Not the worst…” he wrote in a post followed by #ICONN,” before responding to other fans.

Ja Rule possesses firsthand knowledge of performing in Las Vegas residencies. He took the stage with DJ Cassidy during the “Pass The Mic Live!” concerts at Planet Hollywood’s PH Live, sharing the bill with Fat Joe, Slick Rick, and Doug E. Fresh. This happens to be the identical venue where Fifty is currently hosting his residency.

The performers also delivered their act from Las Vegas during the televised “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.”

50 Cent’s show “In Da Club” will conclude its run at Planet Hollywood with a final show on January 6.
