Tom Holland keeps his romance with Zendaya away from her big career moments.
During his chat with Men’s Health, the Spider-Man star revealed why he stays off the red carpet when she’s promoting her movies and doing press events.
“Because it’s not my moment, it’s her moment, and if we go together, it’s about us,” the 28-year-old shared.
Despite starting his acting career as a kid, Holland admits he’s not really comfortable with being famous.
“I really do not like Hollywood, it is not for me,” he told Jay Shetty on the On Purpose podcast in 2023.
“The business really scares me,” Holland explained. “I understand that I’m a part of that business, and I enjoy my kind of interactions with it. But, that said, I am always looking for ways to kind of remove myself from it, to kind of just live as normal a life as possible.”
Tom’s got other plans beyond the big screen too. He told Men’s Health he’s hanging up his acting shoes once he becomes a dad.
“When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore,” adding that he’ll focus on “Golf and dad. And I will just disappear off the face of the earth.”
Though that might not be so simple given his star power. In his Men’s Health interview, Holland shared a story about being spotted at an LA Whole Foods – right as he was breaking up a fight between two guys.
He jumped in between them and pulled one away from the scene.
“I can see that he’s recognized me immediately, and you could see the wheels turning, like, I’m really angry, but Spider-Man is telling me to calm down,” Holland said.
