Boosie Badazz sat down with 60 Minutes this week to discuss his experience with the two men he paid to secure a presidential pardon that ultimately never came through.
On Sunday (Sept. 13), 60 Minutes aired a segment examining lobbyists operating within and around the current administration who allegedly broker pardons for convicted individuals but fail to deliver. Boosie discussed the $600,000 he says he paid Jack Burkman and Jacob Wohl after being promised clemency for his federal gun case. He is now suing over the failed pardon.
After the segment aired, Boosie took to X to clarify his comments, noting that portions of his conversation with the program did not make the final broadcast.
“I DID A HOUR INTERVIEW WITH 60 MINUTES ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED WITH MY LAWSUIT BUT ONLY A FEW THINGS GOT PUT OUT,” he wrote. “I TALKED ABOUT HOW BEFORE THIS SITUATION HAPPENED THAT I SAT DOWN WITH THE PARDON CZAR AT THE WHITE HOUSE DISCUSSING WHY I FELT I NEEDED A PARDON.I TOLD THEM THAT I FELT MS ALICE WOULD HELP ME BUT THE JUDGE ENDED UP DISMISSING THE CASE A FEW MONTHS LATER SO SHE DIDNT NEED TOO .A MONTH LATER THEY PICKED MY CASE BACK UP N GAVE ME THE SAME CHARGES N ADDED A CHARGE OF ME BEING A ATTACK [addict] AROUND A FIREARM.”
He continued, “HOW AM I A ATTACK WHEN I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO REHAB. I WAS SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS N STATE PRISON FOR 3RD OFFENSE MARIJAUNA N NEVER OFFERED REHAB. WE HAD PROOF THAT THESE THIEVES SAID THE PRESIDENT SIGNED THE PARDON.”
Boosie concluded by saying he wants Burkman and Wohl to compensate him “times 10,” suggesting he is seeking significantly more than the $600,000 he says he paid. He also referenced the additional $300,000 he claims their contract guaranteed him if the pardon failed to materialize. Boosie added that he believes the 60 Minutes interview could help make his case “clearly” in civil court.
