Nearly $200,000 worth of creditor claims have been filed against the estate of late producer Tay Keith, with American Express and Bank of America seeking payments related to credit cards and a luxury vehicle. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, American Express National Bank filed two claims this month. One is seeking approximately $60,000 tied to a Business Platinum account, while another requests around $27,000 from a separate Platinum account.
Bank of America has also filed a claim concerning Keith’s 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS, stating that his estate owes roughly $115,000 on the vehicle. Combined, the claims total more than $198,000. These filings represent creditor claims against the estate, meaning the requested amounts are being submitted for payment as part of the probate process. However, the filings alone do not confirm that every amount will ultimately be approved or paid in full as requested.
The claims come after creditors were formally notified to submit any outstanding debts during the probate process. In July, TMZ reported that a family member had been appointed to administer Keith’s estate, which included significant assets such as bank and money market accounts, a Mercedes-Maybach, a Lamborghini, and a 50 percent stake in a Memphis home.
Keith’s estate also contains various business and music-related interests. The probate filing listed stakes in Shadow Tequila and an engineering studio, as well as his publishing rights, music catalog, trademarks, and royalties. Court documents state that Keith was unmarried, had no children, and did not leave behind a will.
Keith, whose legal name was Brytavious Lakeith Chambers, died on June 18 at the age of 29. The Nashville Medical Examiner later concluded that his death was caused by the toxic effects of ketamine and mitragynine, a compound found in kratom, TMZ reported.
