Anne Hathaway ’s doctor had a good reason for advising her against appearing on Hot Ones to promote her upcoming film, Verity: consuming spicy chicken wings could lead to pregnancy complications.
The Academy Award-winning actress plays author Verity Crawford, who embarks on a press tour in the upcoming drama-thriller. One of Crawford’s media appearances takes her to Sean Evans ’ Hot Ones, where she tackles several spicy wings before eventually switching to “dummy” wings. Hathaway had hoped to take on the real-life version of the challenge during the Verity press tour.
“But then I got pregnant, and my doctor said I couldn’t do it because I might go into early labor, so I still haven’t done the gauntlet yet,” Hathaway said.
Hathaway is expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman and shared the pregnancy news in June . Verity is set to hit theaters on Oct. 2.
