Drake could potentially be making his return to the desert for Coachella 2027, more than 10 years after his first and only headlining appearance at the festival.
According to HITS Daily Double, the OVO rapper “is said to be in the Coachella discussion” as organizers continue working on next year’s lineup. The publication mentioned the possible booking in its Oct. 2 HITS List, sparking online conversation shortly after the report surfaced.
The potential Coachella appearance comes as Drake continues his latest musical streak following the release of Habibti (FOMO), an expanded edition of the project he released in May. He has also recently suggested that fans should expect him to return to touring soon.
“Obviously [a] tour is coming and there’s other things on the horizon,” Drake told CTV’s etalk. “Some big shows.”
Coachella’s lineup still appears to have space for another major headliner. HITS Daily Double previously reported that Tame Impala, Dua Lipa, and Fred Again.. are expected to appear at the 2027 festival, while BTS, SZA, Oasis, and Radiohead have reportedly been approached for another headlining position. Miley Cyrus was also reportedly offered a spot but turned it down.
If Drake is ultimately selected, it would mark his first time headlining Coachella since 2015. He closed out the festival’s Sunday lineup that year, joining AC/DC and Jack White as the event’s featured headliners. One of the most memorable moments from Drake’s performance came when Madonna made a surprise appearance during his set.
However, there has been no official confirmation of Drake’s involvement, and Coachella has yet to announce its full lineup. Coachella 2027 is scheduled to run across two weekends, April 9-11 and April 16-18, at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
