Kevin Gates has reportedly been ordered to pay his estranged wife, Dreka Gates, $1 million in child and spousal support using proceeds from his music catalog.
According to a TMZ report published on Wednesday (Oct. 21), a judge directed the Baton Rouge, La., rapper to set aside funds from his music catalog and transfer them to Dreka Gates amid their ongoing divorce proceedings. The celebrity news outlet reports that earnings from Kevin’s catalog must be deposited into a Morgan Stanley account managed by Robert Bracy, CFO of the rapper’s record label, Bread Winner Alumni. Certified public accountant William Duerksen has also been appointed as an authorized signatory on the account.
Of the funds, $929,341.50 will go toward Dreka’s child and spousal support, while she will receive an additional direct payment of $150,000. Her legal team is set to receive $125,000 in attorney fees, with another $100,000 allocated to her accountant and $103,000 designated for a third-party mediator. Meanwhile, Kevin will receive an upfront payment of $538,798, followed by monthly payments of $225,000 starting in October.
Kevin and Dreka’s divorce proceedings have been marked by significant disputes. In October of 2025, Dreka filed court documents requesting more than $70,000 per month in child and spousal support. The 40-year-old entrepreneur also claimed that Kevin stopped covering their children’s private school fees and property taxes in 2021, accusing him of beginning to “dismantle the financial foundation of their family.” She further sought primary physical custody of their children, 13-year-old Islah and 12-year-old Khaza.
Dreka first filed for divorce in July of 2025, citing irreconcilable differences after 10 years of marriage. Kevin seemingly addressed their separation on his 2022 track “Bad for Me.” However, in court documents related to the divorce, the “I Don’t Get Tired” rapper maintained that the pair had never been legally married.
