Kourtney Kardashian revealed that she took advice from an unexpected source before marrying Travis Barker.
During the Thursday, Oct. 22, episode of The Kardashians, the mother of four shared that something Kanye West told her years ago stayed with her so much that she decided to follow his advice.
While visiting her stepson Landon Barker’s new home for the first time, Kourtney heard about the parties he and his roommate planned to host. The conversation eventually turned to relationships, prompting the 47-year-old to jokingly advise the young men to “wait for marriage” before becoming intimate with anyone.
She then recalled similar advice Kanye, her brother-in-law from 2014 to 2021 during his marriage to Kim Kardashian, once gave her.
“I remember Kanye told me, ‘I feel like God is calling me to tell you that you should not hook up with any randoms until you are with your husband,’ ” Kourtney said. “And I didn’t.”
After years of friendship, Kourtney began dating Travis, 50, in 2021. They got engaged just months later and exchanged vows three times. Their first ceremony took place in Las Vegas without an official marriage license, followed by a courthouse wedding in Santa Barbara and a final celebration in Italy.
In a recent interview, the Blink-182 rocker reflected on how his romance with Kourtney began, revealing that friends had suggested the two get together several times before they started dating.
“We both wanted it to happen, and we knew if it did happen, it would probably be like neither of us would have a choice — we would just be overwhelmed with whatever and fall madly in love,” he said on Billy Corgan’s The Magnificent Others podcast. “And we did.”
“I already loved her as a friend. … I loved her for years. It was someone that was always a friend, that I always thought about,” he added. “When it happened, it was like a perfect symmetry from both of our sides.”

The couple welcomed their son, Rocky Thirteen, in November 2023. In August, Travis told PEOPLE that their blended family had come together seamlessly.
“Fortunately, all of our kids get along,” he said. “Everyone kind of does their own thing. We try to have a lot of normalcy.”
Travis shares son Landon, 23, and daughter Alabama, 20, with his ex-wife, Shanna Moakler. He also maintains a close relationship with Atiana De La Hoya, Moakler’s daughter with Oscar De La Hoya. Meanwhile, Kourtney shares sons Mason, 16, and Reign, 11, as well as daughter Penelope, 14, with her ex, Scott Disick.
“Every Sunday we have family dinner — there’s never a Sunday where we don’t have family dinner,” Travis said. “I love being present. I also love leading by example.”
