Drake was courtside on Wednesday (Oct. 21) to support the Toronto Raptors as they kicked off the 2026-27 NBA season.
The Raptors took on the Chicago Bulls at Scotiabank Arena, securing a dominant 135-92 victory. Drizzy showed up to cheer on his team after missing several important games last season while working on Iceman, along with his other two albums, Habibti and Maid of Honour.
The Raptors currently rank among the stronger contenders in the odds to win the Eastern Conference this season, and Drake appears eager to see his team make a strong run. Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs, and defending champions, the New York Knicks, are among the current favorites to win the championship.
The Toronto Raptors claimed their first-ever NBA championship in 2019, with Drake supporting the team throughout their historic run. When they defeated the Golden State Warriors to secure the title, Kawhi Leonard was the team’s star player. Leonard, who has been linked to an alleged salary cap circumvention investigation this year, was traded back to the Raptors last month after his stint with the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Raptors will take on the Washington Wizards on Friday (Oct. 23), before facing the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday (Oct. 25). Whether Drake will be courtside for those matchups remains to be seen, as it’s unclear if he plans to attend away games or focus on supporting the Raptors at home as the new season gets underway.
