Cardi B Urges Students to Get Through the Semester Without AI: ‘Don’t Ask ChatGPT for the Answer’

Cardi B made sure to share some timely advice about what not to do as a student during her appearance at Johns Hopkins University’s Hoptoberfest this weekend.

“Y’all better pass y’all motherfuckin’ semester,” the Am I the Drama? artist (and potential 2027 Grammys nominee) told the crowd during Sunday’s performance, before cautioning students against taking the easy way out. “And don’t ask ChatGPT for the answer.”

Cardi’s appearance was a last-minute addition, as she stepped in to headline the post-Halloween event after Daniel Caesar was announced to “no longer be able to perform.”

Cardi has previously spoken out about the growing spread of AI-generated nonsense. Back in February of this year, she jokingly expressed her desire to “free my older family members from Facebook AI.”

Several schools have also taken steps to prohibit the use of ChatGPT, including institutions within Colorado’s Boulder Valley School District. Meanwhile, OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, has faced legal challenges over various issues. In October, for instance, reports emerged that the parents of a software engineer with epilepsy had filed a lawsuit alleging that ChatGPT provided their daughter with medical advice that resulted in her death.
