Dafne Keen is speaking candidly about her childhood experiences in Hollywood, revealing that she was offered cocaine at wrap parties when she was just 11 years old.
The Logan actress, now 21, shared the experience during Tuesday’s (Nov. 3) episode of Michael Rosenbaum’s Inside of You podcast.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been drunk enough to even have a hangover,” she said around the five-minute mark of the video linked below. “I think I’m such a control freak with that. Because also I think as a child actor I witnessed so much of that as a child that I just had no interest… I was getting offered coke at wrap parties.”
“At what age?” Rosenbaum asked.
“Like, really young. Around 11, 12, 13,” Keen responded, leaving the host stunned. “So I saw what that was, so I was like, ‘I don’t really have any interest in that’… I was saying no, fortunately.”
Keen did not disclose who offered her the drugs or identify the productions where the incidents allegedly took place.
The actress also reflected on her experience filming Logan, where she starred as Laura alongside Hugh Jackman. She described how much more positive that environment was and credited Jackman for looking out for her throughout production.
“He gave me a lot of really positive reinforcement and a lot of really good advice. And he was always so lovely,” Keen said. “He’s the best number one you could ever wish for. And he’s the best on-screen dad. He genuinely felt like a sort of parental figure. He made sure that no one was abusing my hours, that I was having fun on set, that I wasn’t aware of any tensions that would’ve been happening behind the scenes. He was so incredibly protective and amazing.”
