Megan Thee Stallion gets 5-Year Protection Order Against Tory Lanez

The judge sided with Megan Thee Stallion on Thursday, granting her a five-year restraining order against Tory Lanez.

Rolling Stone’s Nancy Dillion covered Megan’s heartfelt video testimony: “I need this protection order because life hasn’t been peaceful since getting shot.”

The Houston star shared that she stays home most days, dealing with anxiety and harassment, including fans yelling “Free Tory” at her shows. “I’m constantly on edge,” she revealed. Her fears extend to his future prison release: “I’m worried he’ll shoot me again, and I might not survive this time.”

Her lawyer Mari Henderson fought for her protection as a victim of violence. The judge backed the order, pointing to “several clear facts,” including Tory shooting at Megan, as justification.

Defense attorney Michael Hayden fought back, saying a restraining order would unfairly limit free speech. He claimed Lanez has zero plans to reach out to Megan and “doesn’t want any contact with the petitioner ever again.”

The restraining order against Lanez runs until January 9, 2030, with his parole chance not coming before September 2029.

In December, sources revealed Megan sought this order to combat ongoing harassment. Her team’s biggest battle has been against widespread misinformation.

October saw false social media claims that Lanez – still locked up from his 2022 conviction – had been found “innocent.” This prompted Megan’s attorney Alex Spiro to chat with Complex about legal moves. They later sued a blogger for “harassment, cyberbullying, and pushing false stories” about Megan.

“Made-up stories don’t work in real courts where he’s found guilty and jailed,” Spiro stated. “If these bloggers keep spreading trash, we’re hitting them with lawsuits.”

Lanez caught a 10-year sentence last August for shooting Megan during that 2020 Hollywood Hills incident.
