Grimes is stepping up to defend Elon Musk’s gaming reputation.
The Tesla boss, 53, is catching heat from gamers over claims about his achievements in Path of Exile 2.
According to Game Rant’s Pam K. Ferdinand, Musk said he hit level 97 in the game’s hardcore permadeath mode without any help. But gamers aren’t buying it, saying that kind of achievement takes serious time and skill.
The doubts got worse when Musk reportedly got booted from the game for too many rapid actions – making folks think he might be using cheats, macros, or paying others to boost his stats.
Now his ex Grimes, 36 – mom to their kids X Æ A-Xii, 4, Exa Dark Sideræl, 3, and Techno Mechanicus, 2 – is jumping to his defense on X.
“Just for my personal pride, I would like to state that the father of my children was the first american druid in diablo to clear abattoir of zir and ended that season as best in the USA,” Grimes wrote Saturday about Musk’s Diablo 4 achievements. “He was also ranking in Polytopia, and beat Felix himself at the game. I did observe these things with my own eyes. There are other witnesses who can verify this. That is all.”
Musk kept it simple with just: “Thanks.”
The gaming community’s still not convinced about Musk’s Path of Exile 2 claims, pointing out how he seems lost on basic game stuff during streams and doesn’t act like someone who really knows the game.
Gizmodo’s Matthew Gault summed up what many are thinking: “Where the hell does Musk find the time? He’s the head of six companies and a close associate of incoming President Donald Trump.”
“He posts on X, the social media site he owns, roughly 61 times a day. He meets with world leaders, attempts to bend national and international politics to his will, and still somehow has time to play games like Diablo IV and PoE 2 at the highest level.”
Reporter Joseph Cox told Gizmodo: “His constant emphasizing in the stream that what he is doing is very, very difficult while seemingly not understanding what he’s actually doing is incredibly on brand for the attention and love desperate Musk.”
