Jhene Aiko’s stepping up to help those battling L.A.’s fierce wildfires.
The Grammy nominee’s wellness brand Jhenetics teamed up with Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and Manly Handz mobile spa on Sunday (January 19) to bring some comfort to first responders on the fire lines. At their Pacific Coast Highway base, massage therapists armed with Jhenetics products helped ease the heroes’ stress and sore muscles.
Jhenetics is keeping the support going with relief stations at frontline posts, donation spots, shelters, and other L.A. area locations, offering free massages and stress relief services to those who need it.
“With sudden change comes uncertainty, but we must remain grounded. These challenging times are an opportunity to be there for one another and build a stronger community,” Jhenetics shared in their press release. “Inspired by the support of family, friends, and community… we will adapt, regenerate, and move forward with intention and love.”
This act of giving comes about two weeks after Aiko’s own Palisades home was destroyed in the wildfires that have torn through Pacific Palisades, Altadena, Malibu, Santa Monica and beyond. Cal Fire reports the L.A. fires have burned 40,603 acres, destroyed 15,467 structures, and claimed 27 lives.
The “Alive & Well” singer recently posted on Instagram Stories that she was “praying for everyone” hit by the fires.
“Me and my children’s home is gone, burned to the ground with all of our things inside,” Aiko revealed. She’s mom to 16-year-old Namiko Love and two-year-old Noah Hasani, her son with Big Sean.
