Bruno Mars keeps cracking jokes about those casino rumors that keep floating around, even after MGM shut them down last year.
His latest quip came after dropping “Fat Juicy & Wet” with Sexyy Red – a track they proudly hyped as a “strip club anthem” before its Friday release. When the 15-time Grammy winner hit a Spotify milestone, he jumped on Instagram Stories to tell fans to “keep streaming.”
“I’ll be out of debt in no time,” he teased.
Mars had a similar lighthearted response back in August when he dropped “Die With a Smile” with Lady Gaga, which is now sitting at #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100. Both Gaga and Rosé, another Mars collaborator, show up in the “Fat Juicy & Wet” video, which Mars co-directed with Daniel Ramos.
Let’s get real – MGM Resorts International shut down those $50 million debt rumors about Mars back in March last year. When they hit up Complex, their rep straight up called it “completely false” and made it clear Mars doesn’t owe them a dime.
“We’re proud of our relationship with Bruno Mars, one of the world’s most thrilling and dynamic performers,” MGM told Complex. “From his shows at Dolby Live at Park MGM to the new Pinky Ring lounge at Bellagio, Bruno’s brand of entertainment attracts visitors from around the globe. MGM and Bruno’s partnership is longstanding and rooted in mutual respect.”
While these gambling stories keep popping up, Mars just keeps having fun with it all – even telling the Las Vegas Review-Journal he’s got “love” for people painting him as a “lounge singer in debt to the mob.” Meanwhile, he’s locked in for more shows in Vegas with his residency getting extended.
