Metro Boomin can’t stop raving about The Weeknd’s latest drop, Hurry Up Tomorrow, particularly Mike Dean’s work on it.
The hit-maker took to X to gush about The Weeknd’s new album, making it crystal clear he’s loving every second of it.
He kicked things off by resharing a post that read, “Mike Dean put up a Finals MVP performance on #HurryUpTomorrow.” Metro backed it up with a “Facts!!!!!!” and tagged Dean to make sure he caught the love.
After hinting that the album’s got him feeling sky high, Metro dropped his own take on Hurry Up Tomorrow. “Only this nigga Abel could drop album of the year in January lmao,” he posted. He then threw more props Dean’s way: “Mike Dean siting high on that all time producer/composer list for sure.”
The Weeknd dropped Hurry Up Tomorrow on Jan. 31. He’d pushed it back a week “out of respect and concern for the people of Los Angeles County,” and included the already-released tracks “Dancing in the Flames,” “Timeless” with Playboi Carti, and “São Paulo” featuring Anitta.
Chatting with Variety, The Weeknd hinted this album, which wraps up a trilogy that kicked off with 2020’s After Hours, might be his final bow.
“You have a persona, but then you have the competition of it all,” he explained. “It becomes this rat race: more accolades, more success, more shows, more albums, more awards and more No. 1s. It never ends until you end it.
“Part of me actually was thinking, ‘You lost your voice because it’s done; you said what you had to say. Don’t overstay at the party — you can end it now and live a happy life.’ You know? Put the bow on it: Hurry Up Tomorrow? Now we’re here,” The Weeknd shared. “When is the right time to leave, if not at your peak? Once you understand who I am too much, then it’s time to pivot.”
The Weeknd just announced he’s hitting stadiums with Playboi Carti and Mike Dean as special guest. The After Hours Til Dawn 2025 Tour kicks off May 9 in Phoenix.
