Pete Davidson opened up about his mom’s return to dating while chatting on The Drew Barrymore Show.
Sitting with Lil Rel Howery, Pete talked about his struggle accepting his mom’s decision to date again following his dad’s passing. “I was nervous because I didn’t want someone to bang my mom,” he quipped. “She’s never dated and it’s been like 22 or 23 years since my dad passed.”
Davidson shared that he thinks she’s ready to move on now. “Now, I think she’d like to have a partner and someone to hang out with so I don’t have to do it so much,” he revealed.
When the conversation between Drew Barrymore and Davidson turned to dating with kids involved, Howery jumped in yelling “He’s in his 30s!” about Davidson finally being cool with his mom dating. Pete cracked up at this.
Howery then got real about single dads versus single moms dating. “With dads, nobody cares about us being single,” he noted. “They think we out here living it up, having a great time.” But he explained that he actually spent his time at home missing his kids.
“Men are equally sad,” Pete chimed in after hearing Howery’s take.
Pete also got candid about his own love life since breaking up with Madelyn Cline six months ago. He joked about his role in relationships. “I’m the girl, I think, whenever I’m in a relationship,” Pete admitted. “So some guys are shy and like when a lady’s like, ‘Hey.'”
Pete explained he’s into partners taking charge. “Because I grew up with all ladies in the house,” he said. “So, I act pretty feminine.”
