Sadie Sink Reveals It Was Hard to Let Go of ‘Stranger Things’

Sadie Sink’s finding it tough to bid farewell to the Netflix show that launched her career.

The 22-year-old star hit up The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Thursday night (Jan. 30) and got emotional about wrapping up Stranger Things. The series, which finished filming in December, drops its fifth and final season this year.

“It was really hard, really difficult to say goodbye,” Sink, who plays Max Mayfield, shared around the 4:20-minute mark of the video below. “I think 10 years for the whole show. But I don’t know, we grew up on it, grew up with each other, like our audience grew up watching us and I don’t know.”

When Fallon asked about set souvenirs, Sink admitted she helped herself to quite a bit.

“I took a lot from the set,” she confessed as Fallon high-fived her. “Well, just like the essentials, you know. I needed Max’s skateboard, which, that was actually gifted to me, the skateboard, cool. I’ve got some Walkmans, some Kate Bush cassettes and some Vans and stuff. Like, every shoe that she’s worn.”

She joked that her place is turning into a “little museum” of Stranger Things stuff, adding she needed to “be careful” about hoarding too many show props.

The show’s creators Matt and Ross Duffer echoed similar feelings in a fresh chat with Variety.

“It was definitely sad,” Ross Duffer shared. “We’re not going to tell the story with these characters anymore, with that crew or those actors. We were all exhausted, but at the same time, we all had to take some time to mourn the loss of it.”
