Debbie Lorenzo, who was married to Irv Gotti, is sharing her grief over the music mogul’s passing.
She hit Instagram Thursday with some old photos of their family, writing, “Irv, you will be greatly missed. I can’t believe I’m saying that!”
She added, “Married, divorced, great friends, and so many life lessons—everything we’ve been through good and bad has molded me into the woman I am today! God never wastes anything; He uses everything for His ultimate glory!”
She spoke about how “ignited the music industry with your presence, vision, and talent. You shattered records and did it all on your own terms. You had a truly big heart.”
Her emotional message concluded: “You fought long and hard, and now you’re resting. Know that we raised three beautiful, compassionate young adults, and I’m honored that God chose us to be their parents. It brought me joy to see them take such great care of you. Rest well; I love you my friend.”
Debbie and Irv, who split in 2013 after 10 years of marriage, had three kids together – daughter Angie and sons Sonny and JJ.
Word of the Murder Inc. Records co-founder’s passing broke Thursday. He was 54, and we don’t know yet what caused his death.
Gotti had been dealing with health issues, though he tried to brush them off, telling The Shade Room last September he was just “getting older, that’s all.” Last spring, his diabetes, which he’d battled for years, led to a minor stroke.
