Stephen “tWitch” Boss’ mother Connie Boss Alexander is expressing worries over Allison Holker’s upcoming memoir.
Holker’s book This Far has sparked controversy, especially after her claims about discovering a “cornucopia” of drugs including mushrooms, pills, and “other substances” in tWitch’s possessions following his passing.
Alexander shared her unease about these revelations with Gayle King.
“I’m not saying that my son was perfect,” she said in a preview clip. “I do believe he had experiences where he tried this, that or the other. But no, I don’t believe that there was that type of issue, that type of problem.”
The beloved DJ passed away by suicide at age 40. According to Us Weekly, his autopsy showed no traces of drugs or alcohol.
“I applaud speaking about mental health awareness because of course there was something going on there at the end that we were not aware of,” Alexander shared on CBS Mornings. “I applaud that. If that was the intent of the book to make people aware, look out for these types of signs, there’s a way to say that in general without denigrating the memory and the legacy that he built and that’s there for his children.”
Alexander expressed concern that “there’s now this question in the air when his name comes up and that bothers me.”
Last month, Holker stirred controversy with some memoir revelations. She later took to Instagram Story to apologize, saying her “only intention” was to “share my own story as well as part of my life with Stephen.”
She added, “Just like you, I never really knew what happened and even as I am trying to put the pieces together, I will never really know.”
The couple shared 12 years together, nine as husband and wife. They had two kids together – Maddox, 8, and Zaia, 4 – and Boss also adopted Holker’s daughter Weslie Renae, 16, from her previous relationship.
