Playboi Carti’s highly anticipated album MUSIC is on track for a massive debut based on early projections.
According to Hits Daily Double, the rapper’s third studio album is expected to move 250,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. Strangely, this estimate doesn’t include physical sales, despite various CD versions and merchandise bundles being available on Carti’s official website. The Atlanta artist reshared these numbers after Hip Hop All Day posted about the exclusion of physical copies, which they described as “odd.”

Playboi Carti’s new album MUSIC is set to make a remarkable impact regardless of how sales are calculated, with 250K units from streaming alone. This doubles his previous album Whole Lotta Red, which earned 100,000 units in its first week back in 2020. Music is expected to easily claim the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart.
According to Billboard, Carti’s latest release became 2025’s most-streamed album in a single day on Spotify, suggesting the rapper will likely be pleased with these impressive first-week numbers.
