This week, the “Nokia” hitmaker scored not one but two examples of this strategy in action, including the well-timed sharing of a photo showing Drake rocking Crocs inside what looks like Cade Cunningham’s locker room.
Has Drake officially dropped the rumored “Shopping Spree” track?
As of now, no. The alleged leak first popped up recently on a YouTube channel with the same name as Drake’s Finsta, though—unlike the Instagram account—the YouTube channel hasn’t been officially confirmed as Drake’s. Either way, the supposed leak mentions Drake “sleeping in the Pistons locker room” and getting intimate with an unnamed woman while wearing Cunningham’s Crocs:
“Everything is earned in this life baby, nothin’ given / Heard you cut your bestie off, I know that was a tough decision / Sleeping in the Pistons locker room, I’m on another mission / Cade Cunningham left his crocs / Yeah, I fucked ya in ’em.”
Has Drake acknowledged the alleged “Shopping Spree” leak?
It sure looks that way. Drake can clearly be seen in the pic below sporting Crocs in what appears to be the Pistons locker room. The image was posted during the excitement following the team’s victory over the Knicks on Thursday.
The track “Shopping Spree” started making rounds on social media around the same time as two other supposed leaks, including one featuring Drake’s Her Loss partner 21 Savage. On the official side, Drake’s latest full project, a collab with PARTYNEXTDOOR, hit No. 1 back in February. A solo highlight from the album, “Nokia,” recently got the visual treatment from director Theo Skudra.
Most fans expect Drake to drop a new solo album later this year. Just last month, he let his main Instagram account speak for itself, telling followers and everyone else that his “next chapter” might “leave you feeling uneasy.”
