The artist formerly known as Kanye West claims Playboi Carti once told him he was “at the Chateau with a gun.” While we don’t know exactly when this alleged incident happened, Ye seems to have shared this story during a Twitch stream this week, possibly from his own account.
“I gotta tell you another thing that Carti said telling me on the phone, n***a,” Ye is seen telling the camera in the clip below. “This n***a told me he was at the Chateau with a gun, n***a. What that mean, n***a? And then n***a said he don’t be on the internet. It’s like, if you don’t be on the internet, what we talking about then?”
The “Chateau” he’s referring to is likely the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, where Ye was revealed to be staying during his recent Akademiks interview.
Speculation on X and other platforms suggests these Ye comments came from a short stream on his own Twitch account, though that hasn’t been independently verified as of this writing. Making the rounds on X was a screenshot showing an alleged tweet from Ye pointing fans to a Twitch account with the username @yeezy_stream.
However, no such tweet appeared on Ye’s official X account as of publication time. An account exists under that username, although it’s currently “temporarily unavailable” due to what a Twitch disclaimer says was “a violation of Twitch’s Community Guidelines or Terms of Service.”
There’s also been talk about what might have triggered an alleged ban, though that remains unverified too.

Ye and Carti, once regular collaborators (with Carti clearly influenced by Ye’s artistic approach), have had plenty of publicly displayed issues in recent months. In March, Carti, who rarely uses social media directly, told Ye to “STFU.”
