Anderson .Paak has teamed up with Mariah Carey for some fresh tunes. The rapper spilled the beans on a recent episode of Track Star after nailing the guess that the song playing was her 1995 smash hit, “Always Be My Baby.”
“This would be Mariah Carey. The Mariah Carey. I remember in like fifth grade or something, watching the music videos and having a huge crush,” he shared. “We’re working on some music on her new album.”
.Paak and Carey first connected last June at Electric Lady Studios in New York for some recording sessions. Not long after, dating rumors started swirling when they were spotted in Aspen walking hand-in-hand. Word is, they grabbed a bite at the city’s Catch Steak restaurant, where .Paak had his arm wrapped around Carey’s waist as they walked in.
Just a few days later, the pair reportedly hung out with friends in Aspen and hit up a Mediterranean spot. People noticed .Paak kissing her hand while her arm was touching his chest.
This March, the two sat together at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
US Weekly says their sources have confirmed the romance is real. “Mariah and Anderson are dating, they met working last summer and he has always been a huge fan and looked up to her,” one insider revealed. “Their dates have been very far apart because of schedules, but it’s been going on a few months.”
Another source apparently told the magazine that Carey “hasn’t seriously dated anyone in years” and that .Paak is the “first person she has truly been interested in.”
“He has really been keeping her attention and they are full on dating,” the source added. “Their relationship started in the studio as they were working on new music together and it quickly turned romantic.”
