SZA and Justin Bieber have finally delivered a live performance of “Snooze” for fans — check out footage below.
On Friday (May 24), during the second night of the Los Angeles portion of Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s Grand National Tour, the “Kill Bill” artist brought out Bieber, who made an appearance in the 2023 “Snooze” music video and featured on an acoustic version of the Grammy-winning track.
In clips from the performance, SZA tenderly held Bieber’s chin, before the “Sorry” singer kissed her hand.
It’s not the first time Bieber has performed the track live. Last February, he delivered a cover during an invite-only NHL All Star party, which SZA was present for.
Bieber’s latest performance arrives two years after the cancellation of his Justice World Tour following his diagnosis with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, which resulted in facial paralysis. But the artist might be staging a return after putting out a request for collaborations back in April.
In a 2023 interview with WSJ Magazine, SZA remembered Bieber and his wife, Hailey Bieber, being encouraging about her sophomore album.
“Him and Hailey [Bieber] were randomly the first people to hit me on FaceTime after SOS dropped,” the singer-songwriter shared. “[Bieber] showed up [at the ‘Snooze’ video shoot] and he was down as fuck for the whole day, and didn’t trip about nothing.”
On the opening night of the Los Angeles portion of the Grand National Tour dates, which occurred on Wednesday (May 21), SZA brought out another surprise guest in the form of her “bestie” Lizzo.
The duo performed SZA’s remix of Lizzo’s track “Special,” from her 2022 album of the same name. Later, Lizzo posted a video from the performance on Instagram, with the caption: “BABYS FIRST STADIUM PERFORMANCE — I love u @sza u r THEE DIVA !”
