Warren G recently opened up about the strained dynamic between him and Dr. Dre, hinting that someone might’ve poisoned the well between them.
During a chat on The Breakfast Club, the “Regulate” rapper said he hasn’t spoken to his stepbrother Dre in a while, despite reaching out. “I ain’t talked to him for a minute,” he shared. “I’ve tried hitting him up a few times, but he’s always busy. I don’t have any beef with him.”
He admitted their current connection is unclear. “I don’t even know what kind of relationship we have right now. I haven’t seen him or kicked it with him in a long time. I got nothing against him… but I don’t even know if there’s an issue.”
Warren suspects someone may have stirred the pot. “I don’t know what’s going on. Maybe somebody said something to him or twisted something. A lot of people do that to get close to someone. But again, I got no issue with Dre.”
He said he’d be open to clearing the air. “We can sit and talk face to face. If I did something wrong, I’ll own it. It is what it is.”
This isn’t the first time Warren’s voiced frustrations. On the Ugly Monkey podcast, he recalled being blocked from going backstage at the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show—where Dre, Snoop Dogg, and others performed. “I had my son with me—he was back from the NFL—and I just wanted him to see Dre and Snoop. I wasn’t even trying to perform. But nobody picked up their phones, and I couldn’t get backstage.”
He also shared feeling sidelined by both Dre and Snoop. “It’s not like I want money or anything,” Warren said. “But it wouldn’t hurt to get a call to just come through, maybe do a cameo or chill.”
Snoop eventually addressed Warren’s comments during his own appearance on The Breakfast Club. “His relationship with Dr. Dre is his relationship,” Snoop said. “Mine with him is separate. When I’m working with Dre, I come solo. I’m only responsible for me.”
