Coi Leray and Trippie Redd have stepped into parenthood with the arrival of their daughter Miyoco—and Coi’s dad, Benzino, is over the moon about becoming a first-time grandfather.
Speaking with TMZ following the announcement, the former rapper couldn’t hide his joy. “It’s a blessing,” he said. “Miyoco is carrying on a beautiful tradition.”
The name Miyoco, which means “beautiful child” or “blessed descendant” in Japanese, holds special significance for the family—especially since Benzino named Coi after the graceful koi fish, giving it a personal twist with a “C.”
Benzino shared how thrilled he is to see his daughter step into motherhood and is already thinking about spoiling his granddaughter. He also revealed that Coi’s pregnancy helped heal past tensions between them.
“We’re in an amazing place right now,” he said with pride.
And the family growth isn’t stopping there—Benzino’s son is expecting a baby boy in August, making the rapper a soon-to-be grandfather of two. Despite Coi and Trippie Redd’s public breakup, Benzino had nothing but kind words for Trippie and his family.
“We’ve all matured,” he added. “It’s about the kids now.”
Coi is also closing this chapter on a high note, having just signed a new deal with Epic Records. Benzino gave a shoutout to label head Sylvia Rhone, saying he believes she’ll help steer Coi’s next era with care.
As for Benzino, he’s keeping things moving with music and Tubi film projects, joking that with grandkids on the way, “they’re gonna need Roblox money.”
