A Virginia woman has been indicted in connection to the tragic hit-and-run that killed Million Dollar Beach House star Sara Burack.
Southampton Town police confirmed on Friday, June 20, that 32-year-old Amanda Kempton has been charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident. If convicted, she faces up to seven years behind bars. Authorities noted that alcohol is not suspected to be involved.
Kempton, a marine biologist, entered a not guilty plea and posted collateral in place of a $100,000 bail. Her attorney claimed she believed she had hit a traffic cone. After the incident, Kempton allegedly drove to a friend’s house, where she discovered Burack’s large pink suitcase stuck under her vehicle.
Sara Burack, 40, was known for starring in the Netflix reality series Million Dollar Beach House and spent over a decade with the high-end real estate agency Nest Seekers International.
Police were called on Thursday to Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays, Long Island, where Burack was found lying in the road with severe injuries. She was rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital but sadly didn’t survive.
