A week after being hit with a bombshell $20 million lawsuit from former hype man Terrance “T.A.” Dixon, Fat Joe is setting the record straight with a fiery response.
“I’ve been through a lot these past few months — losing my big brother, my father, my mother — and now I’m facing these disgusting lies. But know this: I won’t break, and I will NEVER back down,” Joe wrote in a powerful statement.
He continued, “Some people in my circle took my love and kindness for weakness. But how many times do we forgive? I’ve been stolen from, lied on, and envied. And still, it’s me and my family left picking up the pieces from the mess others create.”
Seemingly addressing Dixon’s firing, the “Lean Back” rapper added, “If you got let go for doing wrong, take the L and move on. But instead, they sit back, bitter, watching you thrive—and then come for what matters most: your name. They create wild stories and think tossing a lawsuit will force a payout, so they can feel like they finally ‘won.’”
Joe ended his message with a Bronx-born declaration: “Here’s the problem with that theory—I’ve never let anyone on the streets extort me, so why would I let a shady lawyer and a coward ex-hype man do it? I’m from the Bronx!”
Joe didn’t hold back as he directly called out Dixon’s lawyer, who had just been arrested for assault hours before Joe’s statement dropped.
“Mr. Tyrone Blackburn, attorney at law — since you’re chasing clout, we’ll settle this in court,” Joe wrote. “The era of lawyers using their license as a weapon to extort people and tear down families without proof is done!! I’m not the one!! You picked the wrong person to mess with this time!!”

Before Dixon’s lawsuit, Fat Joe had already taken legal action against his former hype man back in April, accusing him of extortion and defamation. According to court documents obtained by Complex, Joe claimed Dixon launched a series of social media attacks, spreading “countless posts… filled with completely false, grotesque, and outrageous allegations,” including accusations of pedophilia, statutory rape, and sexual assault.
The two had worked together from 2006 to 2019, but things took a turn when, according to Joe, Dixon became bitter over not receiving payment from his record label—a situation he blamed on Joe. Dixon later teamed up with attorney Tyrone Blackburn, demanding compensation as a “ghostwriter and uncredited vocalist,” and eventually threatening to file damaging claims of sexual misconduct, fraud, statutory rape, and more.
